All Zug Glass Globes are perfect for hanging outdoors, surviving all weather conditions. I use thick fishing line or picture wire which is a woven rope of small wire. My mom loves to hang them high in the trees by tossing the fishing line over a high branch and then hoisting the globe up and tying off the string on a lower branch she can reach, much like hanging a bear bag when camping.
